Samsungs little printer that could
I couldn't pass up this printer when it was on sale for less that a new toner cartridge. My expectations were low but after the first few pages printed silently and fast I was impressed. This printer is now shared across my network (connected through my iMac) for the simple here and there prints I don't want to waste my 8 color ink-jets seriously overpriced ink. So far it is everything I wanted. My only complaint is the toner is hard to find locally since this is such a new printer so I've ordered an extra Samsung MLT-D104S - Toner cartridge - 1 x black - 1500 pages just to keep on hand.

    We will probably never use all of the capability of this little printer. We were looking for a small laser printer to use just for occasional needs in our RV. It worked so well as a printer, I decided to wait until we returned from an extensive camping trip to write an evaluation after trying it in our home network. Our laser fax will not work in the network as the manufacturer did not write a 64 bit driver for it. The network has computers with operating systems using both 32 and 64 bits so I didn't know if this printer would work, and it does! With the included software, it will print from any computer, so I can use it at home and take it with us on camping trips, a real advantage.

    The printer is reasonably quiet, prints fast, is easy to set up and was delivered quickly (right to the RV in a campground!) It did not include an interconnecting cable and the Samsung toner cartridge is expensive. The cable was inexpensive and the cartridge lasts a long time so I'm rationalizing that it's worth it!?

    I got this printer for around HALF what a replacement (OEM) cartridge for it cost - how can you beat that? Aside from that, the performance is just as good as my fancier Samsung laser printer. Granted, this one has less features, but it takes up less space, too! This one shipped to me SUPER FAST as well. I don't know if I got this at a teaser sale price ($40), but if it is the regular price, I'd probably buy nothing but this one! At $60, it's just not a good deal any longer. But at $40, it's perfect!

    This printer was on sale on Amazon so I ordered one. Unpacked it, connected and it worked fine for about 2 weeks.

    Then it would not 'power on'. So we returned it.

    In the meantime I decided to look for a wireless printer, which is what I am doing now.

    I have never had something new 'crap out' so quickly before. Now I know where the refurbs come from. :)

    We bought this product cause it was a good price and looked like a really good printer. It arrived very fast and was easy to hookup. We print alot and every time we would print anything, there were lines that would go across the paper. We tried taking out the ink cartridge and wiping it and wiping out the inside of the printer but the lines would not go away and they were very noticeable. I called Sam-sung, and they don't even support their product and then come to find out, the printer was discontinued so I ended up sending it back to get a refund. So, if you dont want to to go through the hassle, I would not buy this product.

    I purchased this printer because it was inexpensive, small and laser. I knew going in that the toner replacement was expensive (it always is with laser printers), so I wasn't surprised by that. My major problem is that if I put in more than 5 sheets of paper, it registers an error ('paper jam in tray 1'). It is incredibly annoying to have to sit and reload paper a few sheets at a time. Also, some things just will not print correctly. I have no clue why, but some pdf files come out as black lines across the page instead of what is in the file. Most things print ok and come out decent looking, but overall it is not a good choice. Perhaps I just got a bad machine, but I would recommend trying a different printer.

    This printer is incredibly inexpensive compared to other models in its class (likely, because Samsung wants you to buy re-filler cartridges, which is fine with me). The printer has a low profile and really does fit easily on any desk. Esthetically is looks fantastic, better than I had anticipated and prints quickly. I work out of my home and was using a canon ink jet printer that was not designed for high printing yields and was costing me a small fortunate in replacement cartridges, this printer has been a great solution.

    When I bought this printer I was looking for something cheap and small, it captured both of those requirements, but after owning the printer, I would recommend to anyone looking for a new laser printer for home or office use regardless of budget.

    My only complaint: There was no printer cord included and I couldn't find this referenced when I was ordering, I only remember, because I debating buying one on Amazon. Does it seem weird to anyone else that a printer cord isn't included with a printer? Seems like that would be like getting an external hard drive without a USB cord, or iPhone without a cord to plug into your PC or Mac.

    will never go back to ink printers. I do not do alot of printing and the ink would always dry out before ink cartridges were empty. talked to a salesman at staples and he suggested a laser printer. went to amazon and loved there prices. Bought one arrived in a timely manner and used it the next day easy to install and use. very quick to print and very quiet. I was printing 14 pages and a minute had not passed and the printing was done i thought there was a problem and there wasn't it was finished what a joy.

    I needed a dirt cheap laser printer.
    I found one.
    Overall, I have no complaints with the printer's performance. It is relatively quiet and the size is perfect. I haven't gone through a toner cartridge yet so I can't comment on the page yield or the price of that.
    If you are unfamiliar with the printer world, know that this does not come with a cable. I got one for $5.
    My only complaint would be that set up was not quite as easy as it should have been. My MBP did not recognize the printer the first several times I plugged it in. I felt that I was forced to use the included software (which I HATE doing with printers) but it still took a couple attempts to connect even with the software before the computer found it, so maybe I did not need the software after all.
    Nonetheless, if you need a cheap little printer, this guy will satisfactorily do the job.

    Very happy with the fast delivery from Amazon. Great packaging.

    This printer is small and the drivers work perfect with Win7 64 bit.

    It can do manual double-sided printing, which is a great way to save paper.

    Also has a toner saving setting that makes light print on the paper - great for rough copies.

    Remember that it Does Not come with the USB printer cable(type A male to type B male), you need to buy one. Get the cheapest one available, you don't need a high quality one.

    I definitely recommend this printer.
